Is this the final audition for Tarik Skubal, before he gets traded for a boatload of assets to the Los Angeles Dodgers? Probably not, since he is the type of pitcher that you want once you’re good, and he is young on a good contract. So no, but a man can dream!
The Dodgers are coming off a disappointing sweep to the Phillies, but I think it’s a good thing. A day off would have given the players time to listen to the media, see things on the internet regarding their performance and how strong the Phillies look. Fuck that. Back to the field and get a win against a good pitcher and feisty team. The best medicine.
The Dodgers have felt very boom or busty, where we are top 10 in a lot of offensive categories, but can’t seem to provide a consistent output that keeps us competitive in all the games. As a fan, you obviously ride the waves much more than someone looking at it impartially, so looking at the overall stats does help calm the nerves a bit, but it still feels like this is a big weekend series for us where offense will be the focus, as our pitching staff just falls apart with injuries.
I’ve been a bit doom and gloom, but I still believe. Let’s go Dodgers!
