That’s what Shohei Ohtani is getting ready to say as the Dodgers seem to be getting close to being healthy for the first time time in a long time all season. By next week, we should have Mookie Betts in the lineup, Walker Buehler will be back pitching against Milwaukee, Chris Taylor should be back in a couple weeks, and then Max Muncy and Tommy Edman not far after that. A season that has been filled with NL West leading play by the Dodgers sputtered during July and now has them only 2.5 games ahead of SD.
But I’m not afraid. When it seems like things are going awry, this team has a way of finding themselves, digging deep, and doing what they always do. Win the NL West. For many Dodgers fans, that achievement rings hollow as only once has that turned into WS glory since ’88, but what are they supposed to do? Purposely lose the NL West so that the expectation isn’t there? Eff that.
The Dodgers are killers and are always going to move that way. They won the first game of the series against Pittsburgh yesterday and will continue that tonight against Paul Skenes. The Dodgers own August, and I have no reason to think they won’t continue doing that. Like Harvy Dent said, it’s always darkest before the dawn, and it’s that moment right now for the Dodgers season. But the dawn comes! And with it, will be another NL West crown.
So let’s tighten our belts and cheer our boys on. IT’S TIME FOR DODGERS BASEBALL!
