Like Kendrick Lamar said, “I hate the way that you sneak diss, if I catch flight, it’s gon’ be direct”
That’s what the Dodgers front office need to be doing if they gonna come for the king. I want to make it clear, I know that Clayton Kershaw is not what he used to be, but the Dodgers front office is the one that gave him the contract, is the one that is deciding to put him out there. Whether you think that NOT doing those thing would cause the fans to riot, is not my concern. The fact is, you ran the numbers, you thought he could still be a starting pitcher, so you signed him. Yes, his second start against SD was bad, but it was just one start.
Bob Nightengle of USA Today (ftg) had a quote saying:
The Dodgers are privately concerned about Clayton Kershaw, who was rocked in his second start against the Padres, lasting just 3 2/3 innings and for the first time in his career, failed to strike out a batter.
Yeah? Well big whoop. Plenty of pitchers have bad outings and recover from it. Either you think that Kershaw is good enough to pitch, or you don’t. I don’t need your sneak dissing on him. Put a name on it if that’s how you feel.
Kershaw has always had a subtle mistrust of the new front office and Dave Roberts, so it’s no surprise that they would talk shit behind his back. Would not be surprised if this is Kershaw’s last year as a Dodger, even if it’s not his last year in Major League Baseball.
