Holy shit. That was so bad.
Not only did we get smacked by the NL leading Phillies, but we may have just lost 2 starting pitchers in one day. On an already thin rotation.
We got the news that Tyler Glasnow was going to the 15-day IL, which was deflating, but what might have been worse was seeing the putrid outing that Bobby Miller had.
The final line for the day: 4.0 IP, 10H, 9ER, 3BB, 2K
Listen to me when I tell you this. I LOVE Bobby Miller. LOVE the guy. So this hurts me to say it…
But he just might not have it. At least at this point. Whether due to injury or something in the head, he is not a Major League pitcher and needs to get that sorted out. A promising season debut where he went 6 innings with 11Ks feels like a lifetime ago. Call me crazy, but I still think a great pitcher is in there, just not now.
That being said, maybe Kiké Hernandez is the lights out pitcher that we’ve been looking for… 🤔
That’s not all though…
Our offense SUCKS. If Shohei or Teoscar are not hitting home runs, we are not winning games. We are terrible with RISP and have a bunch of dudes that are just existing as automatic outs. James Outman. Gavin Lux. Cavan Biggio. Chris Taylor. These guys are all not playing at the level to be playing games in the big leagues and we need to make moves or just consider this season a loss.
I know we have a lot invested in these players from a financial and emotional perspective, but it’s time that you earn the big bucks you make and make some tough decisions Andrew. Dodger fans are not okay with just letting this season go. Call us spoiled, but it’s World Series or Bust.
